Self
Help
The nonprofit Center for Community Self-Help and its financing affiliates,
Self-Help Credit Union and Self-Help Ventures Fund, comprise one of the
nation's leading community development financial institutions. Their mission
is to create ownership and economic opportunities for women, minorities,
rural residents and low-wealth families. Child care has been a key focus
of their work to meet this broader mission and they have developed numerous
innovative financing strategies to support their work in this arena. Check

loan fund, community facilities fund, and "Stars" child care
program.
